On February 10, 2007
Lieutenant (JG) Sara Vickers (USS Pioneer)
received the
Montgomery Scott Engineering Award

with the following reason:Lieutenant Junior Grade Sara Vickers has not been on my crew for very long, but during her short time as one of my officers, she has single handedly thought up, developed, and created a device which no doubt saved myself and my entire Away Team from certain death while being held hostage on Kolaaris II.
When we arrived in orbit of the planet, we were suprised to learn that the atmosphere was polluted with ionic radiation from the rings. As a result, transports, communications, and sensor sweeps through the atmosphere were deemed impossible with our current technology. It was then that Sara suggested we create a miniature version of the MIDAS Array and use it to punch a hole through the atmosphere, that way, in an emergency, we might be able to communicate with our people and possibly even beam them out of danger.
That time soon came, and even though she had less than 48 hours and only a skeleton Engineering crew to work with, Lieutenant Vickers was able to successfully test and utilize the device before all nine of her crewmates could be killed on the surface. It was Lieutenant Vickers' ingenous device which gave our crew a way to complete this mission with a minimal number of casualities, and that is why I am nominating her for this prestigious award. For more information on this technology, please see "Micro-MIDAS Array" in the Obsidian Fleet Database.
Since receiving this award, Sara Vickers has been promoted to Lieutenant.
Since receiving this award, Sara Vickers transferred to Deleted Character Pool.
