Lieutenant (JG) Thomas R. Joseph, III (USS Courageous)
received the
TF Character Unit of Merit Award

with the following reason:Thomas R. Joseph III is one of those unique and rare individuals. When he first came to the Courageous we were in the middle of our first mission and engaged in a struggle against our elusive and deadly nemesis, the Etoain Shrdlu. Another member had posted a re-supply shuttle as being captured by our nemesis before Joseph been accepted to the Courageous.
Despite overwhelming difficulties that would have made most new members give up and quit, Joseph took upon himself the challenge of being the pilot of the shuttle that was captured, created a realistic and exciting post that gave the details of his time while captured, and successfully returned an reintegrated his character into the Courageous mission without any disruption.
Since receiving this award, Thomas R. Joseph, III has been promoted to Commander.
Since receiving this award, Thomas R. Joseph, III transferred to Langley Station.
