Task Force 47 Report March 2018

Is it really that time again? Guys, where is the year going? Damn it man, I’m a Task Force CO, not a time traveller!

Now that my obligatory joke, this one being a bit more Trek inspired than normal, is done, let’s get to the actual report, shall we?

So, by now you know the layout. However, for those of you new to my reports, they proceed as follows.

  1. Introduction
  2. Task Force Summary
  3. Awards
  4. Sum Up
  5. Open Positions

So, shall we begin?

Yes, yes we shall.

So, this month has been mostly a ticking over month. We’ve worked on beginning to try to get the house a little bit more in order. It’s going to be slow going but we’ll get there. In short, I hit the nail on the head when I said ticking over, but sometimes steady numbers are the best numbers, especially in quieter times of year like this.

So, now, the Task Force Summary.

Total Number of Ships: 23
Number of Ships with CO’s: 16
Number of Active Sims: 16
Ships that Did Not Submit Reports: 2
Number of Open Commands: 7

That’s pretty much all there is for the summary. Not much else to say on it.

So, I’ll give you the stuff that you want; the awards. Let’s face it, you’re not reading this for anything else. Okay, maybe the open positions at the end.

So, this month we only received one nomination. However, I saw fit to add in an additional one based on the reports received, and the sheer stats of the sim in question.

So, without further ado, UoMs.

Silver: USS Camelot: “This month, the Camelot managed an absolutely stellar 61 posts from 14 players. That’s an average just below 5 per player. Needless to say, this is brilliant; I’d call 2 per player passable, 3 fair, 4 is very good, but this is, as Captain Watson put it in his TGCO report, ‘a league of their own’ and deserves to be recognised. So well done to the crew of the Camelot, I look forward to seeing more of this going forward.” (Rear Admiral Oliver Lancaster, TF47 TFCO)

Gold: USS Archimedes: “I have been involved in one sim or another for the past 17 years. In that time I have never seen a sim function so successfully as a free form sim. As the CO of the Archimedes as said a choose your own adventure sim. The writers on that sim have taken to this concept like a duck to water. Not only is the writing amount high, but the quality is superb. When I read the posts from this vessel I always find myself asking what will happen next with this crew and this ship. I find no one else as deserving for this award as the USS Archimedes. Simply put Bravo Archimedes Bravo…” (Commander Tyler Malbrooke, TG47-C SSCO)

So, congratulations to the winners, and well done to everyone for keeping things strong and steady through the month.

So, in summary, we’ve been focussed on keeping things steady this month. There’s been a bumpy patch or two, as ever, but we’ve pulled through. Moving forward, our intention is to begin to ramp up recruitment for Command. If you’ve either been a CO and are looking to give it another go, or maybe you haven’t but would like to try, please, drop us a line, we’ll have a chat and see if we can’t find a Command for you.

So, now, the other part you’ve been waiting for.
