Task Force 47 Report – February 2019

Okay, I need to get out of this habit. Pretty soon, Farragut’s going to have more reports out first than me!

Joking aside, well done mate. I concede this month to you. Just you wait ’til next month you little…

Okay, now kidding really is aside. It’s not been a great month, I won’t sugar coat that. Captain Meru took the decision to step down from Command of Portland due to time constraints, and we wish them the best moving forward. We also had DS7 leave us. We wish them luck.

So, this leaves us two sims down, and prompted me to restructure the Task Force. I’ll be including the list of the new layout later in this report. So, here’s the breakdown of the current status:

Total Sims: 18
Ships with CO’s: 11
Active Ships: 13
Open Commands: 7

As I say, it’s not an ideal move. However, we are beginning a push to recruit some new CO’s in order to build back up, better than ever! To aid in that, we’ve undertaken a restructure of the Task Force, as mentioned above. The Task Force layout is now as follows.

Task Group 47 Command:

USS Imperator
USS Defiant
USS Sarek

Task Group 47-A:

USS Merlin
USS Arcadia
USS Juno
USS Harbinger
USS Livingstone

Task Group 47-B:

USS Apollo
USS Guinevere
USS Tranquility
USS August
USS Hercules

Task Group 47-C:

USS Pioneer
USS Centaurus
Starbase 80
USS Schrodinger
USS Valiant

As you can see, we’ve folded out a few sims and brought in some new ones. The list of open commands are the following.

USS Juno (Vesta Class)
USS Harbinger (Luna Class)
USS Livingstone (Nebula Class)
USS August (Nova Class)
USS Hercules (Prometheus Class)
USS Schrodinger (Merian Class)
USS Valiant (Defiant Class)

If you’re interested in any of these commands, please hit me up on Discord or send me an email at [email protected] and we can have a chat about what you’ve got in mind, see if we can’t work something out. The same goes if you don’t see a class you like, I’m always happy to have a chat with prospective CO’s or anyone really. Just please be patient if you don’t get a reply within a couple of hours, I do have a job.

And now, for the award! This month’s UoM goes to, drumroll please….

Drum rolls….

USS Defiant: “I seldom get to talk about this one, so it’s always fun for me when I get to! Defiant is a really great little sim, which continues to perform exquisitely. Well, I call it little, a 700 metre ship, it’s bigger than mine, and with 14 players, that’s hardly a small number either! This month, those 14 players hit 78 posts. That’s an average of nearly 6 per player! This is a fantastic result and it therefore gives me great pleasure to award this month’s Task Force 47 UoM to Captain Reynolds and the crew of the Defiant!” (Oliver Lancaster, Task Force CO, Task Force 47)

Congratulations to Reynolds and the crew of the Defiant, the award is well earned! Good luck to you in the fleet vote next month!

So, that’s the end of February. It’s not the month I would have liked but I’m ending this on a high! To all CO’s, your TGCO’s will be in touch forthwith. Happy Sunday everyone, let’s make March a whopper!

On that note, I now want a burger…
