Obsidian Fleet Academy – Report July 2020

So, would you like the good news or the bad news first?

Alright, so there’s not really any sugarcoating it, all of the lessons have disappeared from our Academy pages, and now we have to put in some work to put them back into the system properly. So this will take some (read: quite a bit) of time.

On the bright side, it has given us an opportunity to rebuild some of the courses in lessons in such a way that the other members of the Fleet Council (primarily the TFCOs) are involved more in the process as new COs move through the Academy. It has actually prompted us to take a long hard look at the content of our courses and take this as an opportunity to do a mini-rewrite.

Downside to that is, of course, that this will prevent us from doing any work on the Specialist courses until we’ve got the CO, XO, and Cadet courses all back in the system, properly.

Obsidian Day

It was an absolute pleasure to talk to all of you during Obsidian Day, both on the Lore project and the Academy Night Class, it was an absolute treat to find so many enthusiastic, engaged, people! We’ll be tapping in to that kind of enthusiasm and passion when continuing our work on the specialist courses. Keep your eyes on this are for more developments as soon as the previously mentioned mess is cleaned up.

For this month that’s all there is to it, see you on the other side!
