Task Force 72 | April 2021 Report

The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and baby, 72 is back to being the first to post a report. You’ll be hard pressed to find a sim that really considered April a “bad” month. Most sims saw solid increases of numbers, with two sims crossing the 5 posts per player, and both of them have sizable crews to boot.

On top of that, overall activity is on the rise, leading to some amazing numbers overall, which I will blab on about further down.

Lastly,  before we get into the dirty details, I have been working with our new Lore and Tech director to get some new ships published and ready to go. Hopefully we will be able to spice up our offerings in the near future for you all.

Unit of Merit

“I don’t think there has been a month where I have been as tempted to toss a coin and let fate decide a Unit of Merit.” This is what I said last month, a note of how happy I was with our Task Force. This was not, however, a challenge to make April harder. And yet, here we are.

As I mentioned I have two sims that crossed the 5 posts per player mark, itself an impressive milestone. If it was that easy, I could simply choose who was higher and go from there. But both sims are cornerstones of the Task Force, both CO’s are well loved in the community, and both have ship names that I inevitably spell wrong because I add or remove letters where they don’t belong.

So without further ado… heads.

But in reality, this month has to go to Arcadia, who is probably tired of me writing “Acadia”. With an astounding 65 posts (and only wanted to report 57 of them) and a poster per player 5.92. Normally high posting numbers are no the sole defining factor, but with them comes a chance for me to recognize the tireless work that my TFXO has been doing behind the scenes, from organizing a TF wide Captain’s joint post, to being a consistent pillar in the community when it comes to feed back and willingness to write with other CO’s (two in fact with the Eagle this month alone) it had to go to him.

Conclusion

As with last month, this month we have the additional note of the Athena to bring to everyone’s attention. As the other sim to break the 5 posts post per player (46 posts) they deserve a round of applause. Along with being a power house of posting, the Athena’s Captain, Paul, is a well known member of the community, and everywhere his delightful pink hue goes, so too does a wave of positivity. Also the faint smell of bacon… I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out the contributions the Athena (far too often written in discord by me as Athenia for some weird reason) has made to the Fleet, and to the Star Trek community as a whole.

My praise doesn’t end there for the Task Force this month. It looks like, overall, active player numbers are on the increase, as is activity as a whole. I have seen more green dots, and more active participation, and I can’t tell you how tickled I am. This month was the single greatest overall increase in player posting I have seen since taking the helm. From what I am seeing still in chats, I expect this number to continue to increase as well.

No take aways or wisdom, just a promise to b available if any of you need, and more importantly, to continue to celebrate win after win that we have seen in 72.

Should you have questions or concerns, you may reach me via email at [email protected], or should you need Captain Hawkins, he can be reached via [email protected]. Thank you all, and safe simming.
