<p>Commanded by Rear Admiral Oliver Lancaster, Task Force 47 is one of the premier Task Forces of Obsidian Fleet and Starfleet as a whole.</p>
<p>The Federation is not what it once was. In the wake of the destruction of Romulus leading to a Romulan Civil War, and the entry of a cold war with the Klingons after their suspension of the Khitomer Accords, the Federation and all it stands for is in jeopardy. Now, Starfleet must defend it’s borders whilst trying to keep up with it’s mandate of exploration. This, however, is not an easy task. The Typhon Pact, a coalition of various powers including the Romulan Empire, Gorn Hegemony, Breen Confederacy, Tholian Assembly and Tzenkethi Coalition, has served as a stabilising force within the Quadrant in parallel with the Khitomer Accords. With the Accords suspension and the impending collapse of the Pact due to the Romulan Civil War, it is a desperate time for the Federation.</p>

<p>To protect her interests in this time of uncertainty, Starfleet has re-assigned Task Force 47 to protect the borders of the Federation with a special focus on the Romulan Border, in order to prevent her Civil War from spilling across the Neutral Zone and claiming Federation lives. Meanwhile, the Task Force still seeks to maintain the peace within her borders, and continue to seek out new life and new civilisations, going boldly where no man has gone before.</p>
