Task Force 47 June 2018 Report

Well, I’d like to begin by congratulating Commodore Farragut on beating me to the punch with reports this month. Don’t get used to it, Greg, I fully intend to take back my throne next month. But in all seriousness, well done mate.

Now that my traditional bad pun is dispensed with, let’s get into it, shall we? This month has been a relatively quiet one. Always nice in the first full month with a full command team, not to have any big universe ending disasters to contend with.

Okay, my sim is dealing with a psychopathic time travelling Starfleet rogue, that could go south, but these things happen when you let me plan missions that are suggested to me at 2AM when I’m on a vodka red bull kick!

Right, that’s the last joke. Really, absolutely, the last one.

For now.

So, without further ado, here’s the current summary for the Task Force. We’ve got new CO’s this month so we’re slowly working on building the Task Force back up. So, here’s the summary.

Total Number of Ships: 23
Number of Ships with CO’s: 15
Number of Active Sims: 13
Number of Open Commands: 8

The Open Commands are as follows:

USS Constitution (Constitution Class (AU))
USS Intrepid (Constitution Class (AU))
USS Hercules (Prometheus Class)
USS Resolute (Defiant Class)
USS Cross (Insignia Class)
USS Livingstone (Nebula Class)
USS Camelot (Excalibur Class)
Starbase 80 (Celestial Class Starbase)

If you fancy taking a shot at commanding any of these sims, feel free to drop in an application. If you’d like to try Command but don’t like any of these classes, drop me a message and we’ll see what we can do.

So, with the summary out of the way and shameless advertising out of the way, let’s do the fun bit. The bit you all came here for.

The awards.

Well, award. There was only one nomination, but it did come up twice. So, here is the award in question, along with the nominations.

Gold: USS Archimedes: “This month, the Archimedes managed an astounding 6.65 posts per player. IN and of itself, that is damned impressive. However, what’s all the more impressive is it’s a sim with 17 players. That’s 113 posts last month! This is an absolutely stellar achievement and I’d like to congratulate Captain Solius and her crew on their great work, which they look set to repeat this month, with a startling 62 mission posts this month as of the writing of this report. Well done!” (Rear Admiral Oliver Lancaster, TFCO, TF47)

“As I can’t nominate my own ship, I have no one to nominate this month.” (Captain Nn’khiy Solius, TGCO, TG47-C)

Well done to you and your crew, Cap. Fantastic work.

And with that, let’s whind things down. To do so, I’d like to flag something to you all.

This year is Obsidian Fleet’s 17th birthday. That’s another great achievement. We’re all a part of that success and on Obsidian Day 2018, 29th July, we will celebrate that success. I’d like to encourage as many of you as possible to participate in this. Visit https://www.obsidianfleet.net/obsidian-day-2018/ for more details on the festivities and I hope to see you all there.

And now I sign off and wish you all a happy July (where the hell is this year going?!)
