Task Force 47 Monthly Report – January 2020

Well then, report for the first month of January. For the love of Riker’s beard, when will the rapid flow of time slow down?! At this rate, I’ll have a beard as magnificent as Riker’s in…

Wait a second…

Time, speed up! I want that beard!

Now, with the joking aside, let’s talk shop.

•Total Sims: 16
•Active Sims: 8
•Open Commands: 7
•Currently on Hold: 1

Honestly, this month we’ve just kept things ticking over. The plans for Task Force plot are still in the woodwork, and will come crawling out in due course, though I will not specify a date until everything is 100% finalised. After all, a lot can change now that we actually have 24th Century Trek again, and indeed, some of you will have seen recent discussions to that on the Fleet Discord.

Now, without further ado, the currently available Commands are:

•USS Arcadia (Elysium Class)
•USS August (Nova Class)
•USS Centaurus (Galaxy Class)
•USS Cross (Insignia Class)
•USS Hercules (Prometheus Class)
•USS Livingstone (Nebula Class)
•USS Schrodinger (Merian Class)

As ever, if any one has enquiries into what would be involved with taking one of these commands, please don’t hesitate to email me, or hit me up on Discord (look for the guy rambling on about amazing beards and Constitution Class Starships, if he’s called Lancaster, it’s probably me) and remember that we now have a functional CO app, thank you Du Lac! I would like to flag that for the app to work, you must be logged into IFS otherwise it glitches at you, but I confirmed it was letting you into it myself this morning. I’d also like to refer you to the wonderful Academy department, as you will need to have taken CO Academy before you can assume Command, though we can certainly help enrol you in that if you wish to apply first so your ship is on hold for you.

Of course, if you want a different ship, again, hit me up, I’m happy to discuss possible alternatives for people.

Now, once again, we have no awards this month. As I said, January was a month of primarily things ticking over, as it so often is. However, the holiday season is at an end so let us hit the ground running with this brand new year!

In conclusion, I’d like to take a moment to remind everyone what a special group this fleet really is. Every person here, whether they’re reading my inane ramblings or think I’m a whack job from England (guilty as charged), is wonderfully creative and there are so many fantastic writers, all here to have a good time. Yes, we’re all different, yes, sometimes personalities clash, but that’s what comes with being Human unfortunately. The key thing to remember that whatever you may think, not everyone shares that view. What we do all share is a love of writing and a love of Star Trek. That’s what we need to focus on, the things that make us the same, that bring us together. Not the things that push us apart.

Wow, I went surprisingly deep there. Sorry about that, promise to keep it inane from now on.

Which honestly leaves me to say that’s all folks! Now, may the beard protect you!
