Another busy month with all the fleet changes and where is this year going?? Things have been busy this month planning for the departments future with me now taking on the JFC role. Nothing is changing at the moment, your communication team just like to be prepared to be the best department for you all.
With that being said though I really want to thank Paul, Cam and Shatner for all the hard work and proactiveness around our discord community. They have risen to the challenge and it really makes me humble the support they have shown towards me and the fleet.
Another thank you I would like to give is to Melody Jones – Merlin CO and Johnathen Reynolds – Andromeda CO for setting up and running our fortnightly quiz nights. They have really made it enjoyable if you haven’t checked it out yet the next one is this weekend 13th at 8 pm BST.
Unit of Merit
As was announced back in November 2018 Unit Of Merits were changed to reward quality and ships that are continuously doing well. As you are aware since then, we have had only silver UoM’s awarded each month, quarterly awarded gold from the silver awards and end of the year platinum awarded from gold. The first quarterly vote of 2020 happened from Wednesdays 20th May till Wednesday 27th May. The winner was Starbase 621.

Volunteering
As we all know it takes a community to make things work which is why we need you. If you spoke on the survey in February about getting involved in Comms please reach out and contact me I want to hear from you. This is a really good opportunity to get known by our community and gain experience for future roles in the fleet.

Save The Date: Obsidian Day 2020
We need everyone – players and CO’s alike – to submit news stories. These could be anything from an awesome mission on your sim to a great post you want to see everyone talking about. Commanding Officers please remember we have sim, post and now character spotlight to shout out to everyone how awesome you guys are. It also doesn’t take long to get them approved either. If you need assistance please contact me.
Final thoughts…
I thought this quote was beautiful seeing we have had so many small changes recently. It might be small now but eventually, they will reflect bigger things for the fleet.
