August comes to a close and here in the Northern Hemisphere the winds get a bit colder, the sun sets a bit sooner and the pumpkin spice must flow. Yes folks I speak of fall in all of its awesome splendor. The 29ers have been toiling away giving you stories from all of our yesterdays. These unique sims have so much to offer have a look at the different times and places that we cover and see if you would like to join up. We are always on the lookout for new sim concepts, in fact Task Force 29 is on a recruitment drive, so if you are interested please get in touch. Task Force 29 is a unique simming hub, we a lot of niche and specialty sims so please have a look at what we have to offer. Join a sim or dare I say take the leap into time itself and take a command, but we will have more on that later in the report. That is enough of my blather. So without any gilding the lily and no further ado I give you the state of 29…

Task Force Update

This month was another month of building and storytelling here in 29. I am uniquely impressed by the stories that come out of the sims in this Task Force and look forward to reading them every month, more to see what the characters are doing next than to check on their status.

This report brings some good news and some bad news. First the bad news, it is with a heavy heart that I report the USS Sarek has parted ways with Obsidian Fleet. We wish the crew of that ship well in all of their endeavours.

Now the good news Congratulations to Captain Adisen Terim for their ship. The USS Sovereign, Sovereign Class ship sets its courses in the year 2372. Her stories deal with the events that led to the Dominion War. This is a time frame that is rarely explored in the simming community. Have a look at the Sovereign I am sure you will not regret it.

The last bit for this section of the report is a question to you all. I am curious to see how the rest of the fleet would feel about alien Sims. I am talking about Sims that take place aboard a Klingon, Romulan, or Cardassian ship etc.… This is something that I would love to see in 29. I think not only would it provide a unique writing experience, but also it could be something that connects to the main fleet storyline, a way for 29 to link to the rest of the fleet. If this is something that interests you or you would like to express your thoughts on the subject please contact me at [email protected] or message me on Discord.

The recruitment drive within the Task Force continues. If you are interested in becoming a CO for an “outside the box” sim then TF 29 is the place for you.

Task Force Stats

Total Simms: 12

Ships with CO’s: 5

Ships with Pending CO’s: 0

Open Commands: 7

If you are interested in a command within Task Group 29 please contact me at [email protected] or on Discord (Hadir Prenar #1445), I would be happy to discuss your sim concept and how we can fit it into the Task Group at large.

What if you could travel to parallel worlds or other timelines? The same year, the same Federation, only different dimensions. A galaxy where the Klingons have taken over the Federation… or where your dreams of making peace with the Romulans… or where Vulcan was a maximum-security prison. There is a gateway, its Task Force 29. Now the question is do you have what it takes to step through.

Unit Of Merit

After reading through all of the stories here in 29 I find myself drawn to devour all that one particular sim has to offer. Designed to read like a survival story it hits its mark time and time again. Each post seems to get better than the one before it. Of course you have realized that I am speaking of the NX-05 Atlantis.

When one reads each post one will not only see a story from those particular character’s points of view, but they will see an over-arch of a crew coming together to survive. Often the story here reminds me of a small group trying to survive after a plane crash. It is that suspenseful style that keeps me enthralled with this sim.

Commander Bethsabée Leroux and her team deserve a heap of praise. They work extremely hard to put up the numbers and quality that they do. I have actually lost sleep reading the tales that this crew puts up. I for one am curious to see not only if they make it back, but how many of them will survive to make it back. I cannot recommend this sim enough.

Congratulations Atlantis and keep up the great work!

In Closing

“Let me explain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up.” As always I would like to remind all of the COs out there that they can have a second command, if that command is in Task Force 29. Just something to think about. As to the rest of the fleet I encourage you to take a look at the sims in this Task Force an join a sim that will give you something completely different. Until next month try not be like Picard, because you can’t go back in time and fix the mistakes.

Until Next Month
