Task Force 29 Report – January 2021

Ok… So off the bat I have completed fifty percent of my goal. I may have not been able to beat my colleague in 72, damn he is fast. But I squeaked out on 47 so there is that. January brings the bitter cold and snow here to Northeastern United States. However, with it comes the promise of a fresh start and a new year. One that I hope is infinitely better than the last, worldwide. In last month’s report we welcomed one sim back to the Task Force, and welcomed a new sim as it opened its doors. If that is not a fresh start to a new year, I do not know what is. So as the days begin to get longer and warmer round these parts lets see what the Task Force is up to. That is enough of my blather. So without any gilding the lily and no further ado I give you the state of 29…

Task Force Update

Thankfully the month of January has seen no sims leave our ranks. Much to the contrary it seems that the sims that we do have are beginning to thrive even more. My hope in the coming months is to continue this trend, and expand the 29 community.

I would like to take a moment to give you a little taste of what our two new sims have to offer. First up is the USS Defiant. This ship is a Constitution Class ship that exists in the Kelvin universe. Their stories are interesting and we look forward to seeing what they give us from this universe.

“Welcome to the Frontier! The year is 2264. The USS Defiant, a brand new Constitution Class vessel, has been assigned to the untamed Carinae Traverse, a region of space on the very fringes of Federation space waiting to be explored. The vast region surrounding the Carinae Nebula is home to a great number of cultures. Some are familiar faces. Others are being encountered for the first time.”

Next up us the USS Lexington is a Constitution Class ship that exists in the prime universe. Their stories pick up just after the Klingon War. This is a timeframe that is oft overlooked in the simming world, so it will be intriguing to see where they take us.

“Welcome to 2257 the USS Lexington is brand new and coming off the assembly line. The Lexington is part of the second wave of constitution class starships that were developed to help fight the war against the Klingon Empire. Sadly the ship was not ready for the time of war. Her mission directive changed from helping aid in the war, to helping aid in the rebuild and recovery of the Federation. The costly war against the Empire, has left the Federation in a state of crisis. The Lexington and her companion constitution class starships, represent a new hope for restored peace among the galaxy. The galaxy is on edge, as the Klingon Empire and the Federation begin a campaign of cold war antics between both nations.”

If you have any questions or comments about Task Force 29 do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] or on Discord (Hadir Prenar #1445), I would be happy to discuss anything that you may need.

What if you could travel to parallel worlds or other timelines? The same year, the same Federation, only different dimensions. A galaxy where the Klingons have taken over the Federation… or where your dreams of making peace with the Romulans… or where Vulcan was a maximum-security prison. There is a gateway, its Task Force 29. Now the question is do you have what it takes to step through.

Unit Of Merit

With the great stories coming out of all the sims in the Task Force this month and the ever changing scope of the Task Force. I could not chose a UOM for January. Keep up the great work and here is to next month. With the addition of the Defiant and the Lexington one hopes to see a Unit of Merit from this Task Force in the coming months.

In Closing

“Let me explain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up.” As the seasons change let us look toward the rest of this year and a happier time. Let us come together in true Star Trek fashion and celebrate infinite diversity in infinite combinations.

I encourage you to take a look at the sims in this Task Force and join a sim that will give you something completely different. Until next month Stay Out Of The Space Time Continuum!

Until Next Month
