USS Nogura – December 31, 2018

Task Force 72, Task Force 72 Command

Sim Updates

The majority of this month, with the holidays, was spent on recruitment and keeping things going as best as possible. We made no real changes to the site, other than to re-add our Privacy Policy which was removed when we changed skins last month. Other then that, it was the typical holidays; balancing games needs with the real-life needs.

Crew Updates

For new players, we welcomed DJ who will be playing our newest Science Chief, Lieutenant JG Dmitri Moon.

Time Served Ribbons:
Cmdr Seklar - 6 months
LtCmdr Ian Cooper - 6 months

Story Elements

This month saw the continuation of our AU Mission Arc, starting with the first mission "Blast From The Past".

Summary: Fresh from their shoreleave on Earth, the Nogura is ordered to the Carlson Nebula to investigate several strange readings recently picked up on long range scans. It is a simple mission and after the events on Prolla 5, the crew is rather pleased. Upon arrival at the Nebula, Harrington orders each department into their assigned task. However, before the crew can begin their work an unknown energy wave engulfs the ship rendering the crew unconscious. Each member of the crew awakens at a specific point in their past that had a significant impact on their character’s present. Unable to effect, alter, or change the events of the past; the affected crew is fated to live these events all over again. Forced to reconcile their own past, the crew find themselves trapped; left with no other option to continue.

After coming to terms with their past, the crew awakens to find themselves in the exact moment of their arrival at the Carlson Nebula. With no explanation or reason for how this took place, the Nogura begins their scan of the Nebula only to find all the previous strange readings now gone. Launching a probe, Harrington orders the Nogura to remain and analyze the data. But is all as it really seems? Or did something happen, that no one is aware of?

Post Count: 20 (19 mission posts, 1 personal log)

With the start of 2019 we will be wrapping up our mission and moving unto the next phase of the arc, "Keep Thy Enemies Closer"

Summary: “The most difficult thing in life is to know yourself.”~ Thales

Awoken by a violent shift in sub-space, the crew is alerted to a high concentration of chroniton-tachyon emissions as an energy wave envelopes the ship once again. It is clear the Carlson Nebula is not finished with the crew of the Nogura. Before the crew has a chance to react, the energy readings are gone. With all scans showing things returning to normal Harrington orders several probes to be left behind and preps his report to Star Fleet. Harrington's only goal is to get out of the Nebula and not subject the crew to its strange devices.

But things are not as they seem and it would appear someone, somewhere is trying to reach the Nogura. Things go from strange to worse, when the ship receives a distress call from an Alternate Reality, a Mirror Universe. Someone is not what they seem, and is operating on a Nogura, hiding in plain sight. One of their own has been kidnapped, but to where and why? With little to go on, the Nogura must race against the clock to solve a mystery spanning two universes.

Other Information

With the holidays almost over, and things returning to normal the Nogura will be continuing on with it's recruitment drive to bring in some fresh blood into the game and full a few needed roles. We will also be working on the AU Arc, an Arc that I hope will continue on for several missions. The Command Staff has several twists and surprises for this arc.
