Task Force 72, Task Force 72 Command

Sim Updates

The Endeavour has undergone a few major and minor changes this month. First, my role as acting TF72 CO has moved her from 72C to the 72 Command group. Second, we did some back-end security updates to bring us in-line with Utopia Host requirements. Finally, the Endeavour's sister-sims site needs to be updated. This will be done throughout February to include the new Fleet banners for sims.

The ship itself is now in orbit of Langley Station in preparation for her next mission. Her last mission didn't render any significant damage or affect the ship itself.

Crew Updates

No new crew this month, but, sadly, we did have some departures. Our Chief Tactical and Security Officer as well as Chief Medical Officer have departed to focus on their own simulation. We wish them well and hope for the best.

Our Chief Intelligence Officer Yvette Beauvoir has been promoted to Lt. Commander in character to reflect the player's commitment to the simulation and the character's long-term service aboard the Endeavour. In addition, acting Executive Officer Lt. Cmdr. Alidar, a friend from Greg's past, has been promoted to full Commander and assumed the role of Executive Officer full-time.

I'd like to highlight a few open positions. We have our "Specialized Roles" (Marines, Flight, Strategic Ops, Comms) filled, but we could use the skilled hands of dedicated and creative writers in the "core positions:"
-Chief Tactical and Security Officer (Can be broken up to accommodate specific character designs)
-Chief Engineering Officer (Staffed with well-developed NPCs at present)
-Chief Science Officer
-Chief Medical Officer

Story Elements

Season Four is beginning in earnest with crew shore leave and debriefings from our last assignment. We are presently in orbit of Langley Station and the senior staff is spending time on the holodeck indulging their Captain's interest in baseball. Outside the holodeck crew are finding themselves being reassigned, promoted, and assuming new responsibilities.

In addition, enthusiasm for next season is quite high. Season Four focuses on anti-piracy operations in the old Cardassian DMZ. Details provided below.

With attention turned toward the Romulan Relief Effort, piracy has taken hold of the critical trade lanes between the fledgling Cardassian Union and United Federation of Planets. Emboldened by the absence of Starfleet and Federation security forces, pirates and separatists have launched increasingly daring raids against Federation and Cardassian merchant vessels. Two weeks ago a pirate organization known as The Corsairs destroyed four Federation-flagged transport ships and severally damaged the USS Leopold. In response to the brazen attack, Starfleet Command ordered the USS Endeavour into the region.

The Endeavour’s mission is threefold: (1) Protect critical aid convoys destined for Cardassia, (2) determine the source of the pirate attacks, and (3) neutralize the pirates’ base of operations. To aid in its mission, Starfleet Command assigned a detachment from the United Federation of Planets Frontier and Trade Authority (UFP FTA) to assist the Endeavour’s crew in the investigation and interdiction. Two FTA patrol cutters (USS Jaguar and USS Puma) have been tasked to supplement the Endeavour’s efforts in the sector.
