Task Force 72, Task Group 72C

Sim Updates

We've overhauled the site's wiki pages and navigation system. The pages include new rules, clearer navigation, and removal of irrelevant or old pages. In addition, our join form has been updated. Overall the site is holding up quite well. The front page has been updated with our latest awards.

Crew Updates

A new player joined our group - Beatrice Power - to fill the Assistant Chief Medical Officer role. Beatrice came out swinging in both the Discord channel and the story. Special recognition should be paid to her and our new Marine, Jack Patton, for diving right into the story. Everyone here has done an excellent job digging into the narrative, collaborating on the discord channel, and providing feedback on how to advance the plot. I'm exceptionally proud of them.

We've got a full house at the moment, so any players interested in joining must be self-motivated! That being said, we do have an opening for Chief Engineering Officer. This is a vital role on the Endeavour. We have two well-developed NPCs, and our plots tend to be tech-heavy versus science heavy. In addition, we do have an opening for a Chief Science Officer.

Story Elements

We are about to conclude our long-form Season Three adventure Peaceful Coexistence. This story focused on the return of the neural parasites. It was perhaps a bit too ambitious of a story for its own good, but the crew have really come together these last few months to tell some interesting stories and drive the plot forward. The Endeavour's crew, augmented by a contingent of Marines, is preparing to lay a trap for the neural parasite leader. Once the parasite control creature has been found, the crew hopes to disrupt its control signal and neutralize the creature.

In addition, enthusiasm for next season is quite high. Season Four focuses on anti-piracy operations in the old Cardassian DMZ. Details provided below.

With attention turned toward the Romulan Relief Effort, piracy has taken hold of the critical trade lanes between the fledgling Cardassian Union and United Federation of Planets. Emboldened by the absence of Starfleet and Federation security forces, pirates and separatists have launched increasingly daring raids against Federation and Cardassian merchant vessels. Two weeks ago a pirate organization known as The Corsairs destroyed four Federation-flagged transport ships and severally damaged the USS Leopold. In response to the brazen attack, Starfleet Command ordered the USS Endeavour into the region.

The Endeavour’s mission is threefold: (1) Protect critical aid convoys destined for Cardassia, (2) determine the source of the pirate attacks, and (3) neutralize the pirates’ base of operations. To aid in its mission, Starfleet Command assigned a detachment from the United Federation of Planets Frontier and Trade Authority (UFP FTA) to assist the Endeavour’s crew in the investigation and interdiction. Two FTA patrol cutters (USS Jaguar and USS Puma) have been tasked to supplement the Endeavour’s efforts in the sector.
