The USS Nightingale has been cleared of any negligence or wrongdoing in the disaster at Menope VII and is off the short leash Starfleet kept it on for the last year. With morale low, and freedom to return to work helping those in need, a little R&R is in order. The ship heads to Risa for a medical conference and much needed shore leave. But yearly evaluations are also coming due, so it’s time for medical and counseling check ups, phaser qualifications, and physical fitness tests on the beautiful beaches of Risa. But what will the crew do when conference guests start disappearing? Or dying?
One of the speakers at the medical conference has turned up missing and the crew have been asked to investigate.
Former Nightingale commanding officer Alexis Tiva awoke from his medically induced coma as the Chief Medical Officer devised a way to help his body fight off a rare alien infection.
