Its also not uncommon for Ted to wear clothing which reflects his mood, in particularly made of hyper thermal material, this material has the unusual ability to change colour dependant on the temperature of the wearer.

Personality Profile

General Overview

Talents/Abilities:
Capellans by nature are stronger and faster than Terrans and Ted with his mixed heritage exhibits the Capellan quickness, however his strength is much reduced in comparison to a full blooded Capellan and is of a level considered only stronger than normal for a terran of similar size.

One of the few things Ted still retains from his fathers culture is the throwing weapon that is typical of all Capellan warriors, taught to him at a very young age Ted is a master of its use and still practices with it often. The weapon is called the Kligat and is comparable to a bladed 3 sided boomerang which is very portable to carry and when thrown by a trained wielder returns to the thrower should it miss its target. The range for such a weapon exceeds 100 yards and is deadly in the hands of a master.

Special Abilities:
Ted has inherited the talent of his mothers people, empathic healing. Learnt on Delta IV Ted can calm a victim and share in their pain, the benefit is that the victim’s pain is reduced but the down side to this is that Ted also shares in that pain. Due to his mixed blood Ted has nowhere near the power and range that would be attributed to a full blooded Deltan, however his Capellan heritage and up bringing has compensated in other ways, particular in matters that relate to will power.

Likes:
Interacting, pitching in where needed. Trying things that are new, especially different cuisine. Prefers real experiences as opposed to holographic.

Dislikes:
Overbearing people, Injustice, the unknown and failure, particularly personal failure. Never mentions his fathers people, if asked his replies are brief. Ted has adopted his mothers maiden name of Darkron because he’s embarrassed about the warlike nature of his fathers heritage which is somewhat of a contradiction considering he still practices with his fathers peoples weapon the Kligat. In recent times Ted’s attitudes have changed during his time away from Starfleet.

Strengths & Weaknesses

Strengths:
Coming from 2 vastly different cultures has resulted in a blend that reflects this in his personality. From his father are displayed the Capellan traits which include his sense of duty and iron resolve and also at times the willingness to stand and fight. From his mothers side is the Deltan influence, their enlighten sexual mores which has given him a sense of maturity which has on more than one occasion resulted in embarrassment due to his frankness about the subject. Ted has also benefited from the Deltans with teachings in the ways of calming and focusing the mind, perhaps an ability which is quasi spiritual in nature, the end result is that Ted has learnt to give the appearance of being almost serene.. at least on the surface.

Limitations/Weaknesses:
Fear of failure, fear one day his empathic power will overwhelm him, which is unlikely due to its lesser strength in comparison to full blooded Deltans. In moments of melancholy Ted wonders where his home is, is it with his father still living on Capella IV or his mother likewise living on Delta IV. Until he can resolve some of these issues, he feels he has no home.

Ambitions
See how far he can go in Starfleet.
Establish friendly contact with an unknown alien race.
Reunite parents.
Make his father proud of him.
Master as many musical instruments as possible.

Hobbies & Interests
A somewhat experimentalist when it comes to music, dabbling in many forms. As well as dabbling in visual expression, whether painting, drawing or holographic.

Early years Biography

Personal History

Home World: Delta IV
Place of Birth: Capella IV
Date of Birth: 2348

Personal History and Origin:
Born of a Capellan and Deltan heritage the scandal which followed his father when he pursued this relationship is still the talk of Capella IV to this day. Brought up travelling between 2 vastly differing cultures has at times been a test of Ted’s sanity, while his other brothers Arkon and Haven have adopted only 1 of their parents culture and live respectively on Capella IV and Delta IV with their respective parents.

The people of Capella IV are a nomadic tribal like people who are still very warlike [ref. Star Trek TOS: Fridays Child]. Their inclusion into the Federation was due to a rich source of topaline, a mineral which is used in equipment vital to colony settlement technology. By todays standards it is unlikely the capellans would have been accepted in to the Federation but those were wilder times then.

The people of Delta IV are an advanced cultured race which are known for the mature manner in which they deal with sexuality, to the deltans [ref. Star Trek: The Motion Picture] it’s a subject they can discuss the same way as somebody would talk about the weather. This has generated the misguided view that all deltans are overly sexual in nature where in fact they are just more open about the subject.

Starfleet Academy Report:
Being part deltan has caused Ted no end of interesting times particularly in Starfleet Medical School, at one stage the Dean and Ted were on a first name basis for the numerous times he had to see him over one incident or another regarding an emotional entanglement. The Commandant decided to lumber Ted with additional duties believing if he was kept occupied then he‚d have little or no time to get into mischief. Shortly after Ted was pressed into service assisting in the operational side of the Medical School and to everybody‚s surprise including Teds, he showed a flair for that type of work.

Originally slated for Medical, in particular counselling the Dean suggested that Ted might also have a career in Operations. The 2 areas had some overlapping fields involving people, interacting with them and with the skills he learnt when assisting with the Medical School it was definitely an option. Another reason why the Dean suggested Operations was that he couldn‚t quite visualise a Starfleet officer who could wield a Capellan throwing weapon as ideal counsellor material.

History of note:
Ted served aboard the USS Perseus for a while as their counsellor, it was a rewarding experience which he truly cherishes to this day but in his last mission Ted began to doubt his abilities to contribute to the crew so shortly after put in his request to transfer off. Ted then requested a leave of absence from Starfleet which was later granted when he was diagnosed with depression.

Travelling the space ways as a space hand plying his trade as a medical and starship operations professional eventually recovering from depression on his own terms. This also allowed him the opportunity to view the Federation from a different perspective, sometimes looking in from the outside, seeing both the good and the bad.
Eventually he was recognised as a former Starfleet personnel and was coaxed back into Starfleet, this time for the militarised USS Cambrian. Ted didn’t fare well in that assignment as they were constantly involved in combat missions. He was finally able to get a quieter assignment in Starfleet Science Corp, biology and cybernetics.

Psychology Report:
Ted returned to active duty, all signs of depression seemingly gone. Additional changes were also noted in his behaviour. He is now a harder man, not as spontaneous as before perhaps a bit quieter and less expressive. Records show Ted had been recovering on his mother’s planet Delta IV but additional investigation has placed him on Capella IV as well, which at the time was embroiled in a local uprising.

The Call of Medical Science
The call of medical science has been an evolving progression in Ted’s career, first encountered briefly with the son’a on Risa and later when they were encountered again while aboard the Victorious and his fascination with their level of cellular medical technology. He was further fascinated when he saw his first borg while aboard the Cambrian with their nanite and cybernetics technology. Finally making the decision to follow his biological science calling after meeting the relatively crude adopters of cybernetics in the salonians while with the Victorious in a joint mission with the Crown and the Nimitz.

Education – Before Starfleet Academy:
While Ted had the advantages and disadvantages of learning 2 vastly different cultures it would be fair to say on Capella IV he learnt more about discipline and hardship living off the land in Nomadic fashion. While on Delta IV he developed his academic skills, barely passing in comparison to his fellow class mates.
