A report early in the month? Wow! And what have we learned? An important lesson for all, do not file a monthly report while having COVID…
There is a pretty big piece of news I forgot to mention as of last month, so allow me to remedy this. As Obsidian Fleet looks to make its chains of command far more streamlined, we have made the decision to end the IFO group. It really only contained two ships, which themselves do take place inside the Prime universe that 72 occupies. So the Mary Rose and Obsidian Command have been merged into Task Force 72, meaning they now report to me. I promise to never abuse this.
For the month of April itself we saw some amazing number from everyone, with an almost universal increase in post counts. The sims of 72 deserve a round of applause for a great month, and from the whispers I hear, May promises to continue the trend.
We also saw the revival of Mercutio, with a twist on how many of us think of role playing. If you are around and want to see a fun new way to use your discord to engage your crew, maybe give her crew a quick ring and talk about their adventures. Who knows what you could gain from it!

Promotions
No promotions this month… but possible devotions in the future to allow for promotions if you work hard for it!
Unit of Merit
This month will not be going to a sim that got the most posting numbers (we have plenty of those) but to a sim that has seen a meteoric return to grace! A sim that I have been rooting for in the background, and one that recently took some time to restructure the way they do positing. This month’s Unit of Merit goes to the crew of the USS Mercutio.
For those unaware, a few months back, Mercutio was on death’s door, looking at a serious slow down for the 20 year old sim. After some discussions, a decision was made to trial a weekly free writing session for them to try and get their posts back to the original spirit they enjoyed. And with that change in writing style, it looks as though we have seen the amazing sim return to life, coming back with a passion and energy that is exciting to see.
So, this month is dedicated to you Mercutio! If you see them around, buy them a drink, and send them your praise.
Conclusion
This summer promises to see some big changes for the Task Force, but also giving us time to reflect and decide how we want to run our simms in the coming months. If there is a goal you are hunting for, let me know, and I want to make it happen! Lets get some plots going, and lets have some fun. Keep in mind that both the Gladiator and Vesta exist in a temporal soup, and therefore can be wherever you need for mission post reasons. If you want to do something fun with the Rear Admiral, or with the Task Force’s XO, let us know, we want to see it happen.
Again, if you are looking for a guest, or any help with your writing, please reach out to either Hawkins or myself and we’ll do our best to help. We’re all in this together, and we want to see all of you succeed. See you in June.
Should you have questions or concerns, you may reach me via email at [email protected], or should you need Captain Hawkins, he can be reached via [email protected]. Thank you all, and safe simming.
