T’Relis zh’Vorath was born in the Andorian city of Lor’Vath on the northern polar continent. Like many Andorians, she grew up in a close-knit clan structure where duty to family and community was emphasized. Her clan, House Vorath, has a long history of service in the Andorian Imperial Guard before the Andorian membership in the United Federation of Planets.

Although her family expected her to continue in traditional Andorian service, T’Relis was inspired by stories of Captain Shran (a legendary figure among Andorians) and the early days of Starfleet-Andorian cooperation. Her decision to join Starfleet Academy was seen as both honorable and unconventional, bridging Andorian traditions with Federation ideals.
