So, this is a little announcement. It won’t be long. However, it needs saying so everyone is aware.
As you all know, three months ago, Captain Santiago Vela left his roles of Commanding Officer of the Nagasaki and Task Group Commanding Officer of Task Group 47-C. He has been sorely missed and will continue to be.
Subsequent to that, we ran recruitment, and Commander, now Captain, Tyler Malbrooke was selected as the Senior Ship Commanding Officer, on a probationary period in the role. It was an experiment, one which did yield useful information for the future. However, upon his selection as Commandant of the Academy, he withdrew his candidacy for the Task Group CO role. I’m sure we wish him all the best with this exciting new challenge.
That is the back story, and brings us to today, and my announcement.
Upon consideration, discussion with various members of the Fleet Command staff and with some recommendations from multiple people who have served in roles of both Task Group and Task Force Command, a new Task Group Commanding Officer was selected. I am aware that some of you managed to hear about this ahead of the announcement, and I thank those who did for not shouting it out to everyone. It’s been like guarding the plot line of the new Avengers movie and I feel a deep sense of relief telling you all now.
So, without further ado, here we go.
It is with great pleasure that I am able to announce that I have elected to name Captain Nn’khiy Solius of the Archimedes as the new Task Group Commanding Officer for 47-C! I hope you will all join me in congratulating her.
That’s about it for now, I look forward to reading everyone’s reports for the month, any enquiries, please direct them to your appropriate Task Group Commanding Officer, the Task Force Executive Officer or Myself.
Happy Friday Everyone!
Rear Admiral Oliver Lancaster
Task Force 47 Commanding Officer
