The USS Challenger is a Constitution Class Starship in the year 2259, 6 months after the conclusion of Discovery Season 2 and Five Years before The Original Series. Her premise is a bridge between Discovery and TOS, set aboard a Constitution Class ship sent out on a five-year mission in the aftermath of the Klingon war. A sim built to try and bring the old and new together. What better ship to do that than the Constitution Class?

Her first mission sees her dispatched to explore a binary system on the edge of the Klingon Neutral Zone. However, to add to the already tense situation being so close to Klingon territory, there have been reports of Nausicaan pirates in the sector. With this potential risk, the new crew will be forced into some tough situations that could have some serious ramifications moving forward.

Now, with that all said, it’s best to conclude with what is said in the advertisement itself, as that serves to summarise nicely the actual premise;

In the event the worst happened, Starfleet wanted the best of them to survive. The worst didn’t happen and the Klingon war of 2258 ended in an armistice.

Now, 18 months later in 2259, the USS Challenger, a Constitution Class vessel fresh off a refit and new addition to TF29, is amongst the Constitution Class Starships sent out on an initiative devised to return the Federation to their more positive Galactic image from prior to the war.

That initiative is to return to the core ideals upon which Starfleet and the Federation were built. Those of peace and exploration of the Final Frontier. To seek out new life and new civilisations. To boldly go where no one has gone before.

The sim currently has the majority of senior staff positions open. So, if you’re interested, head on over to http://challenger.x10host.com/index.php/main/index If you want to discuss more, message the CO privately on Discord (BenjiMan#5762) or on the Discord channel: https://discord.gg/D3G2rfp
