Intro

Wow, what a month! This month brought a lot of change to the Fleet. I know some people don’t like change, and change can be scary. However, I am very happy about the changes made and think they will be a positive move for all of Obsidian Fleet. As most saw, the Fleet opted to do away with the separate Task Groups, in favor of promoting one team. I think 72 has always tried to push this belief (#Team72) and it is one area that has always made me proud to be a part of 72. We have a strong group here and I am truly excited for the future. Good things in store going forward.

Task Force Update

Several positives things to announce in the Task Force this month, first off was the promotion of Captain Saulitis to the rank of Commodore and Task Force XO. Commodore Sauilitis has been serving 72 for some time now, and I know she will continue to do great in her new role as TFXO. This month also saw the promotion of Commander Lamar David, of Starbase 621, to the rank of Captain. Captain Lamar has been one of those people I can rely on and has helped TF72 in so many ways. Congrats to both on their well-earned positions. Free drinks at the Starbase next time you’re there!

This month saw an audit of all games within the Fleet. Each Task Forces was reviewed in several different areas and I am very pleased to say that Task Force 72 performed very well, with most games getting a passing score. Each Commander was emailed their results, if you didn’t get yours let me know in Discord and I will get that too you. To our Commanding Officers, I know that running a game can be a challenge but a great job all!! Keep up the great work, keep those sites updated, and keep pushing your people in a positive way. We are all one team here, so if you need help don’t be afraid to message your fellow Commanders, we are all here to assist as needed.

As always if you are interested in an open command or have an idea for a new command feel free to contact me (Jakers#5080) or Kristi (Kristi#7833) from Task Force 72.  I’d love to hear from anyone who is interested in running a game on the Cardassian side of the map! Come tackle the Breen and bring the Ferengi to their knees.. or something like that.

Unit of Merit

This month the Unit of Merit award was a challenge. We have a lot of great games with excellent crews; you people make it hard to select just one.  This month I opted to recognize growth, improvement, and positive development.  This month the Unit of Merit is going to be awarded to Haumea Colony.

“Captain Mahone and the crew of Haumea Colony are one of those games that remind me of the Tortoise and the Hare; slow and steady wins the race. I have been very impressed with the positive changes made in the game and very happy to see the growth that has taken place within the game over the last month. Captain Mahone took the advice given in the monthly audit, rolled up the sleeves, and started digging in. Not only did the game have a significant increase in posts, but they have also welcomed new members, and made several changes to their site over the last month. Keep up the great work Captain Mahone and Haumea Colony.”

In Closing

I hope everyone has a great June.  In honor of Father’s Day here in the US, I will leave you with this.
