Good Morning
As with everything we have been doing to move into the future we have been taking the time to do one thing and then move on to another and the time to move on to awards is now…. finally. It has been discussed on and off but there were many other projects that needed to be moved into place first we have held off.
But with IFS3 firmly in place, we want to reflect the options that are now available as well as find a better way to highlight the writing that is happening around the fleet and our future as not just a trek writing community.
We have scrapped task force / group level awards in the form that they were as honestly they have never been used well enough with Unit of Merit has consistently been the measure to use but we want to change that and reflect everything and everyone across the fleet.
Game members can nominate for some of the awards straight to the group director via this form now which is a huge change but also please reach out fot the Group directors to discuss any of the awards if you have someone you want to nominate.

Group Director Awarded
Bronze star
A player who has fleet community engagement and model behaviour. Awarded by Group Director / JFC.
Silver Star
A player who demonstrates supreme postings, posts often, and plays their character “to the hilt” as well as at a fleet level for exemplary service, community engagement, and an overall good example of a model player. Awarded by Group Director / JFC.
Gold Star
A player who demonstrates supreme postings, posts often, and plays their character “to the hilt” as well as at a fleet level for exemplary service, community engagement, and an overall good example of a model player and has previously been recognised with a silver star previously. Awarded by Group Director / JFC.
Supreme SPM Award
This award recognizes the effort that a crew has put in to improve their single post measure over four consecutive months. Awarded by Group Director / JFC.

Time served
Have you served 6 months, 1 year, 2 years on a ship? Is your ship celebrating an achievement? Then this will now be reflected by the Group director as long as you let them know.
Outstanding Character Award
This award recognizes the efforts put forth by a crew member; as recognized by fellow crew members, and Game Masters to Group Director.
Outstanding Game Master Award
This award recognizes the efforts put forth by a Game Master; as recognized by fellow crew members to Group Director.
Outstanding Assistant Game Master Award
This award recognizes the efforts put forth by an Assistant Game Master; as recognized by fellow crew members, and Game Master to Group Director.
Outstanding Post Award
This award recognizes the efforts put forth in a post; as recognized by fellow crew members, and Game Master to Group Director.

Now the big change….
Monthly Unit of Merit Award
This is an award that is decided by all the Group Directors that highlights a ship that has done its very best to embody the spirit of the Fleet in the crew’s actions both in character and out of character for the month of awarding. Can be from any group and is awarded once a month.
All games that receive this award are put forward for Platinum Sim of the Year.
This award will now only happen when 14 game masters are not part of the Fleet Council. This has been changed due to the fact with quality over quantity there are more than ever GMs in the fleet council. We want things to be fair so we have changed how this award is given out to the fleet to reflect the vision for the future of the fleet.
