Brief Outline of your game and theme?

We are a role-playing game set in 2156 eg the ENT era of Star Trek on a ship that has been thrust far from home in a time where the Federation as it will one day be known does not own half of a quadrant and technology is only just making space travel comfortable.

It has now been a year since the crew have been lost in space and much has changed in that time from when they left Earth.

Current mission?

Contagion

A year after getting lost in space, the crew of Atlantis receives a distress call from an alien research station. Upon arrival, they discover that a deadly virus has broken out, infecting both the station’s inhabitants and now the crew. Time is of the essence as the virus threatens to spread and endanger the entire region. The crew must find a cure while dealing with the ethical dilemma of saving their own lives at the expense of potential alien lives.

What is your favourite thing about your game?

I could not just say what my favourite thing is as I am not the only writer who is there.

  • Well, my favorite thing about this group is that we are writing in an era that is not commonly written about. We get to explore new ideas on how Starfleet handled things pre-Federation.
  • One of Atlantis’ selling points is its small, tight-knit community. Since this mimics the setting and the necessity for the crew to pull together and rely on each other exclusively, there is always plenty of scope for players to interact and build meaningful connections, both IC and OOC.

Another strength is the freedom of the setting. Whilst being stuck on a ship in uncharted space might feel claustrophobic, the opportunity to invent aspects of the universe not already dictated by canon is extremely motivating. It encapsulates a true spirit of exploration in a way not often provided by games set in the ‘known universe’
  • My favourite thing as the game master is the fact the game started as a few friends writing in a sandbox outside the normal and after the last couple of years it has turned into a long-standing consistent game and community. The ENT era is a time of conflict and tension, with humanity still struggling to find its place in the larger galaxy but when you throw in lost in space it becomes something more special and unique.
  • Atlantis is a truly unique game, the setting and the plots carefully crafted by the group are amazing. On top of that the stories and characters we create are next-level – it’s like a living, breathing world of our own making. What’s even better is that the command team is incredibly open to letting us explore our own storylines. It’s not just a game; it’s a creative playground where our imaginations run wild. I can’t wait to see where our collaborative storytelling takes us.

Open Positions

  • Asst Chief Engineer
  • Asst Chief Scientist

But our ship gives ample opportunity for everyone no matter the position to get involved in all the writing.

Anything else you would like to add to your spotlight?
