History of the Pact

Following the crippling extended conflict with the Borg, the Tholian Assembly spearheads the foundation of the Typhon Pact featuring the Romulan Star Empire, Breen Confederacy, Tzenkethi Coalition, Gorn Hegemony, Tholian Assembly and Holy Order of the Kinshaya. In the face of a crippled Federation and a bloodthirsty Klingon Empire, they seek protection in the treaty. An important part of the pact revolves around cloaking technology, and all member states are granted access to Cloaking technology.

Decline of the Romulan Star Empire causes a more inward focus for the Romulans. Stabilizing effect of the Romulans on the Pact wanes

Disaster strikes the largest signatory of the Typhon Pact. Hobus goes supernova, causing unprecedented damage to the Romulan Empire and its people. Romulus is destroyed with much of its population still on the planet.

Smelling blood in the water, the Klingons begin incursions into the Romulan Empire.

In response to the aggression of the Klingons, the Gorn Hegemony, historically enemies of the Klingons, began an offensive against them in support of the Romulans.

Romulan Separatists strike at the Romulan Empire, causing a civil war, further destabilizing whatever moderate influence the Empire had over the Typhon Pact.

Romulan Empire falls, The Romulan Free State rises. Supported by the Tal’Shiar the Free State takes the place of the Star Empire in the Typhon Pact. The Free State continues to war against the Romulan Republic.

With the Romulans focused internally warring between the Free State and Republic, they hold little to no influence over the rest of the Pact. The Gorn have ceased hostilities with the Klingons at this point. The Breen Confederacy, seeking to usurp the Romulans as the dominant power in the pact begins a covert offensive against the Federation via privateers and mercenaries.

The Tzenkethi begin operating outside their borders and closer to Federation space attacking any Federation starship, civilian or military on sight.
