Obsidian Fleet,
As promised, I will keep my reports short and sweet as long as everyone behaves (this is where I wag my finger knowingly, I think?). Not only has everyone been on their best behavior, but I was ecstatic with the way Obsidian Day turned out! Not only did we a see a lot of faces, both current and old, but there was a huge sense of community going on. From where I sit in my little cubicle, the more you guys interact and get to know each other personally, the better off we all are.
In my last report, I mentioned that bagheera and I would begin looking at some type of mediation, conflict resolution, leadership, etc courses for the academy once an academy director was chosen. Well strap into your seat belts ladies and gents, because we have a new academy director! We (bagheera and I) are going to get started on those in the near future now that all the awesome hub-bub from Obsidian Day has calmed down. We’re also looking for volunteers to help out with that, so if you’re interested, e-mail us!
Things have been quiet, we’re working on some stuff behind the scenes, but we’re also always welcoming to new questions or any clarifications anyone has. Until then, I leave you all with an appropriate and inspirational quote:
Commence Station Security Log, Stardate 47282.5. At the request of Commander Sisko, I will hereafter be recording a daily log of law enforcement affairs. The reason for this exercise is beyond my comprehension except perhaps that Humans have a compulsion to keep records and lists and files – so many in fact that they have to invent new ways to store them microscopically. Otherwise their records would overrun all known civilization. My own very adequate memory not being good enough for Starfleet, I am pleased to put my voice to this official record of this day: Everything’s under control. End log.
