Task Force 47 Shake Up

Hello there. A lot of you know me, some don’t. I’m Com- Sorry, Rear Admiral Oliver Lancaster, and as of Tuesday Night, I am the TFCO for Task Force 47. Now, I know what some of you may be thinking. Who is this guy? What makes him qualified? Well, I was SSCO of 72-A for better part of two years, Task Group CO of 47-A for one year and Task Force XO of 47 since the role came into being. So now you’ve got my resume in front of you, you know I’m not just some hot shot thrown into the job.

I’m not going to lie to any of you. I wasn’t expecting the job, but I will do my very best to make each and every one of you proud to have me as your Task Force CO. I operate an open door policy, and do look forward to getting to know each of you. However, remember, you have your Task Group CO’s here to help you too. They are a resource, so use them. This brings me to my next point.

One of the final acts of General MacTaryn before departing to apply his fantastic leadership skills to Task Force 72 was to enact a vote I’d been wanting to get through since being promoted to Task Force XO. As some of you know, a few months ago, I was able to have Captain Llwyedd of the Firebird promoted to Captain a month ahead of when he should have been eligible due to the absolutely fantastic potential he displayed. I took him on as my SSCO at that time, and since taking over as Task Force XO, have wanted to have him implemented as my replacement as the TGCO for 47-A. It gives me great pleasure now to announce that, as of the 4th of October, he will be stepping into the role of TGCO for 47-A. Until then, I ask that members of 47-A continue to e-mail me if they have any issues. Let’s try to make sure he’s walking into a nice neat office, shall we?

As far as the Task Force XO role goes, as of this moment in time I am not going to be selecting one. However, once we have a stable Task Force, I will be re-evaluating this position based upon the state of things at that time.

Now, for the Task Force moving forward, I have a six month goal. In short, I want to work with each of the Task Group CO’s, and the other CO’s in the Task Force, to build it up to the level I would like it to be at. As of March 2018, I hope to have a full Task Force, or at least a fully operational one. From the end of you, the players, all this means is I would like to see you all enjoying the game, producing the great writing you always have, and who knows, maybe a few of you will be stepping up to try your hand at command.

For now, I’m going to leave it at that. Thank you all for taking the time to read this, I know it has been a little bit of a ramble. I look forward to working with all of you.

Carry on.
