Task Force 47 Report – January 2019

So, February’s here. Actually, it’s more than a third of the way gone, but that’s not the point. Okay, it’s not my point but hey, isn’t that the point we always make when making a… Point? Is the word point sounding as weird to you as it is to me? Yeah, point proven. Mandatory pun at the start of a report done, it’s not my best, but hey, what’s the point in losing sleep over it?

Okay, that was an accident…

I swear….

So, here’s this month’s sum up.

Total Sims: 18
Ships with CO’s: 13
Active Ships: 13
Open Commands: 5

I’m happy enough with where we are. I’ll be having discussions with the Task Force Command staff about what I want over the coming weeks, though reading their reports, I’m content that they know what I’m looking for moving forward so it looks like they’re going to be very short conversations.

That’s good. For those who haven’t noticed, I can ramble on a bit. Sorry, get that from Dad.

The current Open Commands are as follows:

USS Juno (Vesta Class)
USS Polaris (Galaxy Class)
USS Livingstone (Nebula Class)
USS Schrodinger (Merian Class)
USS Harbinger (Luna Class)

If you have any enquiries regarding any of these commands, please email me or contact me on discord. If you’re not interested in these classes, well, maybe we can talk about that. If you’ve got a good idea of how to run a sim, I’m sure we can try to get the class in place, provided it’s still in service according to fleet policy.

Having done that, let’s move on. As some of you will know, we now only do a single UoM within the Task Force, with the nominees being evaluated later on as to who gets the higher awards. It gives me great pleasure to announce this month’s winner as:

USS Arcadia: “I would like to put the Arcadia up for UOM this month as their stories are compelling. On top of that sometimes message board sims can be hard to follow if you are simply a reader. However, the Arcadia supplies a useful recommended reading order so you can follow the story. The writing is top notch. I am looking forward to visiting them next month to see what they have in store.” (Tyler Malbrooke, TGCO, TG-47-C)

Well done to the Arcadia and her crew, and good luck when we come to the Fleet vote in April!

So, with that done, I’m going to speak to you all candidly for a moment. As you know, I tend to be very relaxed in regards to the running of things, partly because my actual job gets hectic at times, especially recently due to staff leaving. However, I’d like to take a moment to remind you all that I, and the rest of the Command team, are here to help. That being said, we need you to tell us when you need it. I’ve got a strict open door policy, I’ll always chat to you about any issues your sim may be having, though please, if I take a few days, poke me, as on occasion, things get buried in emails or discord. I’m certain the same goes for our TGCO’s.

And that, as they say, is that. It’s been a shorter report than normal. To be frank, January I expect this from. We’re mostly just making sure preparations are being made for the rest of the year. Watch this space and we’ll see about what happens next.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to have breakfast. Happy Sunday everyone!
